	welcome to a group planning activism at the g8 summit at gleneagles, scotland in july 2005 the g8 is an annual meeting where a select group of world leaders decide the direction of global politics. as an extreme example of exclusivity, capitalism, elitism, north/south divide, etc, it has come to represent, for many people, practices which maintain an unjust world. as such there have been large protests at several recent g8 meetings, notably in evian (2003), genoa (2001), prague (2000) and seattle (1999). these protests -- at times massive, inspiring, riotous (!) -- can foster macho attitudes. as such it was felt it might be a plan to collaborate with glasgow's G8 feminist action group g8feministaction.frockon.org/ (er, we totally ripped off their site's design ...) to put together a safe feminist space for women and queers at the gleneagles protest. there is also an idea to form a queer bloc, and to take action together, in grand non-patriarchal style. -- to be updated soon -- queer g8 email list http://lists.riseup.net/www/info/queerg8 get in touch at queer G8 at queeruption dot org dot uk
